Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro Expands Vista Use in Operations

NLH currently uses LT Vista on a weekly basis to assist in long-term strategic planning for the hydroelectric facilities located in Newfoundland.

To augment this capability, they have contracted Synexus Global to implement ST Vista for hourly scheduling over the subsequent one week period, and also the Inflow Vista module to provide a real-time operational inflow forecast.

The NLH hydraulic system includes the 688 MW Bay d'Espoir, 127 MW Cat Arm and 75 MW Hinds Lake hydroelectric developments. In addition, the 60 MW Exploits River system and the 134 MW Grand Lake system, both owned and operated by major industrial customers, as well as a group of 22 plants owned by Newfoundland Power (84 MW), are part of the hydraulic system.
