New Vista DSS™ Functionalities…
New LT Vista Functionalities…
- Rating Curve Adjustment Factors (RCAF) – tailwater levels and spillway flow are adjusted during times when RCAF is entered. Used often to correct for ice cover influences.
- DC Tie Line Losses and Outages – DC transmission line losses are considered (based on line loading and valve group configuration), as well as line outage schedules
- LT Scheduling – new LT “schedule file” (*.lts) created to encapsulate all inputs and outputs, and allow users to re-run previous cases. This facility greatly improves our ability to support users.
- Piecewise linearization – characteristic equations in LP matrix are represented in several segments, rather than a single gradient. This reduces run times, and avoids sub-optimal solutions
- Multiple Rough Zones – generating units can have any number of rough zones, rather than one internal zone.
- Reservoir Water Balance – evaporation and rainfall on reservoir surface have been added to water balance equation. Previously, these had to be netted out of the inflow input.
- Constraints – new transmission and discharge constraints allowing the user to define limits on time averages, and a new constraints on plant maximum reserve capabilities
- Allocated and Surplus reserve definitions – a clearer definition of reserve where the user will be able to see which plant contributes to the reserve requirements and where the reserve surpluses can be found within a given schedule.
New ST Vista Functionalities…
- Constraints
- Dynamic transmission constraints – max/min/requested constraint on bus MW (generation, sales or purchases) over blocks of time
- Dynamic discharge constraints (Average-to-average) – block to block relationship
- New constraints on plant maximum reserve capabilities
- Data Refresh – enhanced capability to automatically load data and run the model under different modes
- Allocated and Surplus Reserve

New RT Data Access Functionalities…
- Time series data administration – new features to archive and/or remove time series data in dynamic database
New Data Vista Functionalities…
- Static outage definition improved
- Overlay of Static and Dynamic Outages – static outages defined in Data Vista can be augmented by the overlay of dynamic outages available through real-time data access
New Development Environment and Third Party Updates…
- New version of C++ compiler – Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, replaces obsolete C++ compiler – Microsoft Visual C++ V6
- New version of RogueWave SourcePro C++ – 11.0 , for support of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and Oracle 11g
New version of Microsoft Office –2007, for support of Vista’s Export feature on computers running Microsoft Office 2007 |
