KWPA will forecast natural inflows for 25 watersheds that supply water to their 8-plant, 9000-MW power and water resource system.

The Khustestan Water and Power Authority (KWPA) has contracted Synexus Global to implement Inflow Vista. This module will be set up to access weather data and weather forecasts, and determine both short-term deterministic inflow forecasts and long-term probabilistic inflow forecasts for their power and water resource system.

The system comprises three main rivers, three seasonal storage reservoirs, and 3 existing hydroelectric plants with a capacity of 4000-MW. There are also 4 plants under construction, which will bring the power system to a capacity of 9000-MW.

The periodic inflow forecasts will help KWPA operate the system efficiently from both a power and flood-handling perspective.
