Tacoma Power becomes newest Vista user

Tacoma Power, located in Tacoma, Washington, USA, has awarded a contract to Synexus Global Inc. to implement the Vista Decision Support System. Following a Vista pilot installation in 2004 and a separate AUTO Vista based study conducted by Acres-Seattle, Tacoma Power is contracting with SGI for the supply of our Vista software suite, starting with our long-term model, LT Vista, optionally followed by our off-line analysis module AUTO Vista, and finally the short-term model, ST Vista.

Tacoma Power has approximately 1300-MW of hydro generation on its river systems and contracts with adjacent generators for an additional 700-MW of hydro generation.

Tacoma joins several other notable US Pacific Northwest generation entities (including Bonneville Power Administration, PacifiCorp, Avista, Hetch Hetchy, Idaho Power and Western Area Power Administration and US Bureau of Reclamation’s Central Valley Project) in selecting the Vista Decision Support System software to meet their increasingly complex tasks of optimally managing water resources while most effectively dispatching their hydraulic generation assets.
