Reliant Resources provides electricity and energy services to retail and wholesale customers marketing those services under the Reliant Energy brand. Their retail business serves more than 1.7 million electricity customers in Texas. Reliant is the owner of electric generation assets totaling approximately 22,000 MW in operation, under construction or under contract in five key regions of the US.

In early 2003 Reliant Energy contracted Synexus Global to implement the first phase of Vista DSS, on the Raquette River comprising 16 power plants for a total of 163 MW.

Phase I will be completed before the end of 2003, and Reliant Energy will then consider moving to Phase II, implementing Vista DSS for the Sacandaga and Hudson Rivers.
